By Sheldon Shealer, editor

The holiday season has been relatively quite for the state-by-state rankings except for the case of Louisiana's top-ranked team.

Coaching changes highlight holiday week

December 24, 2008 1:00 PM

By Sheldon Shealer, editor

A pair of coaching changes of note:

In the college ranks, Columbia University announced the hiring of former MLS player and recent Boston College assistant Kevin Anderson as head coach. This is the second assistant BC has lost in two years to head coaching positions. BC has built itself into a solid ACC member with a strong Class of 2009 group committed to the school.

In the high school ranks, Seth Lehman, according to The Harrisburg (Pa.) Patriot-News, will take over as Cumberland Valley's girls soccer coach from Ed Batista, who retired following the 2008 spring season as one of the state's all-time winningest coaches with a mark of 361-78-27. Click here to read more about this coaching change.
